Summer Camp FAQ

How do I make sure I receive the Member Discount for summer camps?

To get your automatic member discount, you must be logged into your account before registering. If you are an active member but haven’t used our new platform yet, please activate your account in Haku. Log in and go to your Membership tab to ensure your children are added as “Additional Members”. Once logged in during the registration process, your discounts will automatically be applied at the payment section on the registration form!

Yes! You can sign up for a membership. Once your membership is active, make sure your children are added to your account, and you will instantly see the discounted pricing on the camp registration form.

  • This depends on the camp!
    • Tyrannotots (Ages 2-4) and Family Camps are designed for a parent or guardian to participate alongside the children. Parent / guardian participation required.
    • Tyrannotots (Ages 4-6) are optional for parents. Parents or guardians are welcome, or they may drop off and pick up.
    • Junior Paleontologists (Ages 7-12) and Teens are drop-off camps where kids enjoy independent learning.

To ensure the best and safest experience for all campers, we ask that children meet the minimum age requirement by the first day of the camp they are attending. Our curriculum and safety protocols are custom-built for the developmental stages of each specific age bracket.

Our curriculum and safety protocols are custom-built for the developmental stages of each specific age bracket. To ensure the best and safest experience for all campers, we ask that all campers be within the specified age range.

Drop-off will take place at our front desk and main entrance lobby. Kids are picked up at the east gate near the Bone Cabin Outpost (east end of the main parking lot).

Camps run rain or shine! In the event of severe weather, high heat, or poor air quality, we will move all scheduled outdoor activities inside our Bone Cabin Outpost (BCO) or Education Learning Center (ELC) and museum spaces to ensure the kids stay safe and comfortable.

  • If your child presents with any of the following, please contact staff as soon as possible and keep your child home:
    • fever
    • vomiting / diarrhea
    • persistent cough
    • rash
    • lice
    • other contagious illness (i.e. measles, chicken pox, flu, strep, etc.)

Campers must be symptom-free of any illness within at least 24 hours of the scheduled camp.

No-shows and cancellations will not be refunded. However, if your cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances (such as weather events, transportation issues, or medical emergencies), please contact us as soon as possible. We are happy to review your situation on a case-by-case basis, though refunds are not guaranteed.

Because the park includes outdoor environments with natural features, wildlife, and plants, preparation is key! We strongly recommend that campers wear closed-toed shoes, use bug spray, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please prepare for sun exposure and uneven ground.

You agree to disclose any life-threatening allergies (such as to bees or food) to our staff prior to the start of camp. In the event of an injury or medical emergency, our staff is authorized to seek or administer first aid and to call 911 if necessary. Please note that parents or guardians are solely responsible for any costs associated with medical treatment or transportation.

Yes! To protect our guests and our one-of-a-kind exhibits, campers must agree to stay on designated paths and trails at all times. Additionally, our specimens are valuable and often irreplaceable; campers must look but not touch unless an exhibit is clearly marked as hands-on. Campers must agree to follow all instructions given by Park Staff. The Park reserves the right to remove any participant who violates safety rules, damages property, or rough plays without a refund.

Yes, by registering, you give Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park permission to use and display images or likenesses of participants for promotional materials, including our web pages and social media.

Yes. For all drop-off camps (ages 4 and up), children must be fully potty-trained and able to use the restroom completely independently.

To ensure your child doesn’t miss the adventure, please arrive on time! Because our camps travel across the park to trails and dig sites, late arrivals may have to wait at the front desk until a staff member is free to escort them to their group.

Only adults specified on your registration form will be allowed to pick up your child. Our staff will check photo IDs at sign-out every day to ensure camper safety, so please make sure whoever is picking up has their ID ready!

Absolutely! We strive to make our camps accessible to all explorers. Please contact education@dinosaurpark.org at least two weeks before camp starts so we can discuss any necessary accommodations or behavior plans to ensure your child has a successful experience.

To allow our educators time to set up daily activities, check-in begins no earlier than 10 minutes before the scheduled camp start time. For some drop off camps, we may offer after camp care which can be added-on during the registration process.
